Flocka!

Posted by dLux On October - 21 - 2010

Enough is enough. Yesterday, MTV took it upon themselves to name this guy the #8 hottest MC in the game right now. Really? Behind Ludacris at #10 and B.o.B. at #9, with Lil’ Wayne being announced #7 today.

What the fuck is wrong with people? When I was DJing at UCF for tailgating I could not believe how many requests I got for this guy. No, I will not play “No Hands”. Why? Because that shit is garbage, case closed. Yes, I will play “Hard In The Paint”, but it will be my remix with different lyrics, sorry BRO. The closest thing you will get from me is the “Oh Let’s Overdo It” A-Trak remix because it is incredible.

I refused to even bootleg this guys album but after his #8 placement, and me deciding that I needed to voice my asshole opinion on this “rapper” I took to the interwebz and downloaded his debut, Flockaveli.

One word basically sums it up real nice…well, maybe two for some extra umph:  fucking awful.

Easily the best thing about this album is that there are about 10 Lex Luger beats. Luger, the MONSTER of a producer responsible for some of the best beats this year including Rick Ross’ “MC Hammer” & “B.M.F.”, and Flockas own “Hard In The Paint” is definitely carving a name our for himself in the rap game. Easily putting himself up there with the Drumma Boys and Shawty Redds with his own form of signature beats with that horror movie type edge. This kid will not be going anywhere anytime soon that’s for sure.

Now, back to hating. This guys album is atrocious. Just the same loud-ass rhyme style on every track, no vocal range whatsoever and if I have to hear him say “FLOCKA!” one more time I’m really going to get T.O.’d. I swear at the end of the first track for the last 45 seconds dude is just going “waka flocka, waka flocka, waka flocka, pow pow pow” the ENTIRE time.

One thing to keep in mind when wondering how this guy got put on so quickly is that his Mom is the owner of So Icey Entertainment, Gucci Manes old record label. I’m sure that didn’t hurt when shopping his records around to radio stations and what-not.

Where does this guy have the audacity to name his album after one of the best Tupac albums of all-time, let alone arguably one of best albums of all-time period? You aren’t even in the same lane Mr. Flame, sorry.

But I mean what do I know? This is coming from the guy who is eagerly anticipating the new Soulja Boy album, has been listening to the new Gucci Mane album non-stop since its release, and probably has more than a few other questionable tastes when it comes to “quality” rap music today.

I will say one thing, I did not like OJ Da Juiceman at first but he grew on me after time. Who is to say that Waka will not do the same? I wouldn’t say I will listen to him as much as his mentor Gucci, but in due time I may be able to handle doses of it more willingly than I do now. This is only his first album so hopefully he progresses into something better than what he is right now, which is dog shit on a silver platter.

Waka Flocka Flames debut album, Flockaveli, is available for download all over the internet for free.

Wack. “Hard in the Paint” is a sick beat.. but that “wocka…flocka…wocka…flocka..” is downright fucking annoying.

  2. It is appropriate time to make some plans for the future and it is time to be happy. I’ve read this post and if I could I wish to suggest you some interesting things or suggestions. Perhaps you could write next articles referring to this article. I desire to read even more things about it!
