Being an established DJ, my house party days are for the most part over. Last night a good friend of mine (who’s identity I will spare) told me about a girl she knew who was looking for a DJ to play her birthday party. Since my trip to MIA earlier in the week broke the bank I decided to do it for some extra cash. I had phone conversations with the girl throwing the party throughout the day today, she said it would be a relatively wholesome event with older family members and some friends. We discussed logistics, times, song selection, etc… she seemed like a really nice girl. I asked for directions and she told me it was by the millenia mall. I mapquested the address and it was a few blocks before the millenia mall on Americana, no problem. I headed out there with the crew, once I got close to the address I had a trouble finding the street to turn on to. I called her up and she told me it was “right past Texas ave”, I started looking for the name of the street and finally came upon this run down, decrepit looking neighborhood that was definitely closer to OBT then the millenia mall. I thought to myself “there is no way this is where the party is at”. I followed the mapquest directions and sure enough pulled right up to the residence listed on the directions. I looked around me and saw 40-50 “hood figgas” all around me. I looked at my girlfriend and said “fuck this, lets go” just as the girl who I had talked to on the phone came up to my car window. She was in a rush to get me set up so that she could get the party started… At that point I felt obligated, so I decided to take my chances, after all the girl did seem nice. Colombia and I started to unpack our equipment around crowds of hood rats hovering over us like vultures around a dead possum carcass. I was concerned. We set up our equipment in the girls huge backyard area, I got the music on around 9:30pm and immediately got requests for Plies, Gucci Man, and Project Pat. The small crowd of 40 turned into 100 in less than 20 minutes, this was not your typical Scoops or even downtown crowd, all around me I saw dirty gangstas and grills. I was very concerned. In the next hour the crowd turned into 200+ people, filling up ever inch of the backyard. I played “Shawty Low – Dey Know” and all hell started to break loose. People were jumping up and down on top of this small shed, caving in the roof. Portions of the crowd started fighting, it was quickly getting our of control. I got on the mic and reminded everyone it was a birthday party and that we were all there to have fun but no one paid any attention to the white DJ in the hood. I played “Plies – Bust it Baby” hoping it would calm the crowd down but by then it was too late, even the girl who threw the party knew we were doomed. She came over to me and told me to cut the music, got on the mic and started to tell everyone to leave. At first things actually began to calm down and I though I might get out alive until I heard an abundance of gun shots all around me, I was shitting myself. My girlfriend Kim, Colombia and I all ran to the side of the house and ducked down as the bullets continued to fly and the crowd of hundreds scattered in every direction knocking down everything in there path including a large fence. All I heard was screaming, yelling, and a cascade of multiple gun shots, at least 40 in total and from at least two weapons. I though of how nice Miami and WMC had been the week before and questioned why I ever came back to Orlando, and how I ended up playing a party off OBT. As the gunshots continued we ran toward the back door of the house and forced our way into the back door. Inside were very upset older family members crying and yelling, people outside banging on the front door, and someone yelling “he’s been shot”! Colombia ran back outside to grab my laptop which thankfully was not stolen during the commotion, I grabbed my cell phone and dialed 911, I told the operator to send as many units as they could and paramedics. a few minutes later I heard the best sound of my life, police sirens! We went back out to the backyard which had been cleared of all people and began to pack up my equipment, which shockingly had not been damaged or stolen. Just when we thought it was all over we saw red and green lasers all around us, A loud commanding voice yelled “put your fucking hands in the air!!”.
I dropped my equipment and threw up my hands. I had the green laser of a very powerful looking automatic weapon pointed directly at my chest. Once the cop saw me and realized i didn’t belong at that party, or anywhere even close to that side of town he told me to follow him. He asked me if I knew who the gunman was, I told him in the commotion I hadn’t seen who it was and he sent me back to pack my things. I caught a glimpse of the front yard during my exchange with the officer and there were about 30 people laying down on the ground with hands on their heads in the front yard and at least 15 police cars with lights and sirens still on. I could see fire-trucks and other police vehicles driving behind the house, police on the roofs of houses and running through the neighborhood. Releasing I still had not been paid I went back inside and demanded my payment. She said she had no cash but wrote a check (Which surprisingly didn’t bounce). I grabbed my shit and got out of there as fast as I could!! So if you were at last nights party, and I doubt you were, you officially caught my last non-club or official event performance! STAY OUT THE HOOD!!

Pounders St. Patricks Day Knightglo party was a huge success. Hundreds turned out to fling paint at each other and celebrate St. Patricks Day with green beer. It was also the debut of the newest member to join the OCC crew Chris, he held it down on the mic all night hosting for me. You can find the

Both have been well know as underage drinking hot spots, especially Liquid Cellar, who I have been told by various sources is at the top of the list. If you have any question why they would be the number one suspect take a trip over there and look around you. They offer free drinks for a minimal cover charge every night of the week. What do underage kids not have a lot of? Money. Who is going to get hit next for supplying drinks to broke college kids? Liquid Cellar. Just my opinion of course but that opinion has been backed by people who have overheard local law enforcement. Only time will tell. On another note, I hate that fucking joke of a newspaper the “Central Florida Future”. With all the environmentalist hippies at UCF you would think someone would rase a stink about the waist of paper this shitty publication is printed on. It is so sugar coated and blatantly bias towards the UCF administration. When are the student writers of this publication finally get some balls and report about something people give a shit about. Todays headline is “UCF alumnus turns shoes into art with acrylic paint”, are you fucking kidding me?? And amidst all this talk of a bar bust they continue to report that “Underage drinking is not an epidemic problem at UCF” (Central Florida Future 9/18/06) and “We generally don’t have any problems at UCF, and in many ways, UCF is a model for how the rest of the country should be doing things” (Central Florida Future 2/11/08). Really? So when Mario Jenkins, the AFT agent who was
